Award at a Glance
Purpose
To provide recognition for ACS student communities on the basis of their programs and activities.
Description
Awards available to student communities are Outstanding, Commendable, and Honorable Mention. Groups can also apply to the Green Chemistry Student Communities Award.
Student communities participate in setting goals, budgeting, chapter development, service and outreach, and professional development. Student communities that receive an award are recognized during a ceremony at the ACS Spring Meeting.
Eligibility
All student communities聽that submit a report for the academic year by May 31 annually will be considered.
Deadline
May 31 annually
How to Apply
Submit an聽annual report detailing events, including pictures, flyers, and additional materials, submitting a detailed financial report, and answering the report questions.
Review Process
A panel of faculty advisors review the reports based on criteria and considerations and provide feedback on how to make the chapter more successful.
Notification
Student communities will be notified in September about their awards via email to the faculty advisor. The awards will also be available in the portal.
