Purpose

To recognize outstanding efforts by ACS local sections, divisions, and international chapters to promote chemistry to the public or to members.

Description

These awards are given to local sections, divisions, and international chapters by the ACS Committee on Public Relations and Communications to recognize outstanding efforts by local sections, divisions, and international chapters to promote chemistry to the public or to members. Partnerships with other organizations for these activities are welcome, but please note that the nominated event or activity must be primarily driven by the local section, division, or international chapter.

Two awards are given each year, one recognizing new communications programs and one recognizing continuing communications programs. These awards are presented annually at the聽ChemLuminary Awards Ceremony, which is typically held in the fall.聽

How to Apply

Nominations for the Communications Awards are submitted through the聽Annual Report. If you have participated in an activity that should be nominated for these awards, contact your local section, division, or international chapter leaders.
